Dom Smith is headed to Syracuse. The Mets optioned their unhappy first baseman/outfielder to the Triple-A Mets on Tuesday. The team called up pitcher Adonis Medina in a corresponding move.
Smith has been vocal in recent weeks about wanting to play more.
I don’t care about Dom not getting to play every day. Buck gave him plenty of opportunities to do well and he didn’t take advantage of it.
I’m very skeptical of deGrom being able to come back healthy by June. Save him till after the All-Star game imo.
Pete is our MVP. That said, Escobar needs to be benched.
Losing Scherzer would be scary for us esp. with deGrom out for who knows how long.

That was one hell of a comeback attempt in the 9th inning. What’s Paul Sewald so mad about? He sucked while he played for NY. Also, I still hate interleague play.
Be interesting to see what if anything Cano has left getting a chance to play more regularly.

Can’t front when Lindor hit that 2-run HR on the 9th to make the game 7-3, my only thought was ‘here he goes again, padding his stats at a time when the game has already been decided instead of when he need him in the clutch’…and boy was I wrong.

While I get that Robinson Cano is far from a sympathetic figure what with all the money he’s making and of course the PED suspension which took him away from the team for an entire year. But if we’re being fair 41 ABs with sparse playing time does not equal a fair assessment on whether or not a player has anything left. And damn, while we all know that Steve Cohen is mage-rich, to just eat $40M like that is kind of insane.
