That’s why I could never be a manager in baseball, because I’m taking not taking out Scherzer after seeing him pitch a perfect game for 6 innings. Either way, congrats to the 2022 Mets for making the playoffs. Of course it’s the NL East division that we really need to win, but seeing as the Braves never lose to anyone but us, that’s going to be a very tough hill to climb.
The fact that despite his illness Stearns was able to will himself enough to attend last month’s Old-Timer’s Day festivities showed you what kind of dude/player he was. RIP.
While Brandon Nimmo’s catch from last night’s Dodgers game should definitely make the Top 10 list when it comes to the Mets. I can quickly state that the Agee and Swoboda catches during the 1969 World Series, the Endy Chavez catch to rob a homer from Scott Rolen in the 2006 NLCS and the Beltran catch on top of that old hill in Houston were all better. And that’s just off the top of my head.
