Fernando Tatis Jr. Polling Surprisingly High in 2022 MLB All-Star Game Voting Despite Not Playing a Game
Sometimes when sports are put to a fan vote, they get it right. Aaron Judge, for example, was leading all 2022 MLB All-Star Game vote-getters by 200,000 votes as of Monday. Sometimes, however, they get it utterly, incomprehensibly wrong. Fernando Tatis Jr., for example, is currently fifth among NL shortstops in votes.
While Tatis is a terrific player and always plays at a high level, he hasn’t played at all in 2022. The only players ahead of him at shortstop in the National League are Trea Turner, Dansby Swanson, Francisco Lindor and Tommy Edman. He’s ahead of the likes of Didi Gregorius, Brandon Crawford, Willy Adames, José Iglesias and Nico Hoerner.
Basically Tatis making a joke out of All-Star game voting.
