Bronny James Declares for the 2024 NBA Draft

5 Apr

Props to the kid for coming back from that heart scare he had last year, but this move to declare for the draft now just smells fishy. Start with the fact that he had a very mediocre 1st year playing Div. 1 college basketball and of course, we all know how bad his dad LeBron wants to play with him in the NBA. Hell, that’s probably the main reason LBJ is still playing in the League as he approaches 40.

But Bronny clearly isn’t ready for the NBA and nor should he be drafted by any team. Instead, he should take advantage of the transfer portal and go to a less high profile Division 1 team that has a coach with a system that he can start and flourish in, get another year under his belt and hopefully if he stays healthy and does well, declare for the NBA draft next year. Because otherwise, if Bronny does get drafted it’ll undoubtedly be for Lebron’s sake and that just makes Adam Silver and the NBA look bad, really bad.

Stephen Jackson Unleashes Dubious Verbal Affront Directed at Austin Rivers for Innocent Comments on Lebron and Bronny James

7 Feb

Notwithstanding the hostility a bunch of ex-NBA players seem to have for his father Doc Rivers. Taking it out on Austin for a comment he made about LeBron James and his son Bronny wanting to play together in the NBA was asinine when you consider that the younger Rivers clearly went out of his way to not bash LeBron’s son. Austin simply said that he didn’t want to see Bronny play with ‘Bron because people will discredit anything the son does that doesn’t live up to the high standard his dad has set. Rivers didn’t say anything wrong and Jackson should apologize for his idiot response.

Doc Rivers Hire as Bucks Coach After Shocking Firing of Adrian Griffin

25 Jan

I agree with what Stephen A. Smith said earlier today on “First Take”: this is Doc Rivers last chance at coaching. That ring he won in 2008 with the Celtics is so long ago now. And the pressure will really be on Doc to win iit all what with the shocking firing of Adrian Griffin, who only had a record of 30-13 when he got the boot. Of course, Rivers will need the Bucks to start playing SOME defense, he’ll have to appease Damian Lillard and he has to hope that Khris Middleton can return to the guy we saw in 2021 and frankly speaking, the Bucks should try to find some way to get P.J. Tucker back. In other words, Doc really has his work cut out for him because anything less than a championship ain’t cutting it.

People All In Their Feelings Over Jerry Krause’s Widow Being Boo’ed

17 Jan

I’m not agreeing with what the Bulls fans did, because it was certainly wrong. But honestly what did Bull execs expect was going to happen? Jerry Krause was a highly disliked man in Chicago long before “The Last Dance”. Krause was a snake in the grass who many former Bull players disliked. He made moves like letting Horace Grant go to the Orlando Magic that some fans still can’t forgive him for. He wanted to trade Michael Jordan. He was obsessed with Tony Kukoc. He wanted way more credit for the Bulls dynasty then he deserved. So the fans boo’ed him and as tasteless as that might have been, they had every right to do it. Next time they want to honor the man, do it behind the scenes because ain’t stopping no time soon.

Chris Russo Was Right About Shaq Being 5th Best Center in NBA History

1 Jan

Jay Williams is a former NBA player so I don’t expect him to know his NBA history like your average basketball pundit you see on TV. But Stephen A. Smith, a certified and longtime basketball aficionado, should know better than to dismiss Mad Dog like that. Russo is a sports broadcasting legend and historian who knows his shit (which is exactly why Smith brought him to “First Take” in the first place). That said, Kareem is definitely the greatest center of all-time imo. Wilt is definitely top 5. I’d put Bill Russell in there too. The next 3 for me would be Olajuwon, Shaq and then Malone. But I’m not mad at anyone putting Malone and his 3 MVP’s ahead of Shaq.

Malika Andrews Finally Reports on Josh Giddey Underage Girl Sex Scandal

27 Nov

This chick is such a hypocrite. Quick to report on, ignore the facts and get all righteous when it came to the Brandon Miller’s, Ime Udoka’s and other black/brown athlete past scandals, but waiting a few days and then barely mentioning Giddey. So glad people online have called her out.

Straight Up, Gregg Popovich Is a Total Lame

24 Nov

What a lame move by a guy who’s always been a self-righteous prick. Great coach, but can we all agree that telling fans who pay thousands of dollars (hat include overpriced food and drinks) not to boo an opposing player is beyond absurd? Especially a guy in Kawhi Leonard who literally forced his way out of San Antonio. Good thing the fans not only continued to boo after Popovich grabbed the mic, but the booing got louder too…f–k Popovich.
